Participants in a treasure hunt work individually, in teams or as a group to find a treasure. It is usually of some value to the participants and can range from chocolate treats to a large cash prize. The treasure can be hidden indoors, outdoors in the local neighborhood or even in another country. A series of riddles or clues is provided to aid participants in their search. Solving each riddle uncovers the location of the next with the exception of the last which leads to the treasure.
